If ever there were a time for Gods people to be unshakable (stable, steadfast, fixed, established, unmovable), it is today! The last days are upon us - days in which things are being shaken both in the natural and spiritual realms. Not only has the devil ratcheted up his wrath (because he knows his time is short), but the wind of God is blowing throughout the Church, purging and cleansing that which is not pleasing in His sight. There is a great shaking that is taking place today. God is shaking dead traditions, habitual sins, worldliness, carnality, selfishness, and unbelief out of His Bride, the Church. Everything that can be shaken is being shaken, so that which cannot be shaken (what is of God, what is of the eternal realm) will remain (Hebrews 12:27).
Now, as never before, we must present ourselves wholly and completely to God, living for what He wills, and not living to please ourselves. Our lives must be anchored in God and His unchanging Word. We must know of a surety to Whom we belong, and who we are within the context of that relationship; choosing to define our lives from the perspective of who God has made us to be and the incredible destiny He has ordained for us, His end-time Bride.
A Supernatural Creation
We, the Bride of Christ, are not ordinary people! There is nothing average or commonplace about us. We have had a divine encounter with the Living God. The Apostle John tells us, Ye are of God little children (I John 4:4). Kenneth Wuests translation states, As for you, out of God you are, little born ones . We come right out of God; out of His very being. We are His offspring, thus making our origin supernatural. Through regeneration, we have been created in Christ Jesus after the likeness and pattern of God, having become a partaker of His divine life. The Apostle John speaks of this life: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life (1 John 5:11, 12).
God has given to us eternal life as our present possession. Think about that - right here on this earth, in our inner being, we possess a heavenly substance - the very life of God! The greatest miracle that will ever take place in our life is that of being born again. The new birth is not a religious experience. Nor is it merely forgiveness of sins, or having our names written in the Lambs Book of Life. Being born again is passing from death to life. Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 5:24 KJV). There is a great move of the Holy Spirit underway today. He is hovering, brooding over the Bride of Christ preparing her a Glorious, victorious Church - a Church which will possess the richest measure of the divine Presence and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself - one that reaches unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ and the completeness found in Him (Ephesians 3:19, 4:13).
Becoming is the process of our whole spiritual life. What we become in God is of utmost importance! We have a tendency to major on what we do, rather than on what we are becoming. God is far more interested in our becoming. For you see, our becoming who God created us to be is crucial to fulfilling our role in His great end-time drama and our forever after as the eternal companion of Christ.
Keep in mind, the destiny of our Christian experience is not heaven; it is the forming of Christ within us. Gods highest purpose for His people is Christlikeness. This is His passion for us, and should be ours as well. In this life, here on this earth, we are to become like Jesus, being changed from one degree of glory to another (2 Corinthians 3:18).
The primary work of the Holy Spirit in our life is to transform us into the image of Christ. It is through this inward activity of the Holy Spirit that we become the finished product of His workmanship. A very vital part of our transformation into the likeness of Christ involves becoming unshakable. The Holy Spirit is intent on establishing our hearts so firmly in the goodness and faithfulness of God, that when the storms of life come our way, our house (life) doesnt crumble, but rather stands strong.
Becoming unshakable is a by-product of having a vital, living relationship with God. This relationship entails abiding (dwelling) in Him or we could say, maintaining living union with Him. Jesus speaks of this union in John 15:4 Dwell in Me and I will dwell in you. Live in Me and I will live in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. Our living union with God is the most significant thing about us. Abiding in Him is the God ordained way to walk in the ways of God, and the secret to living an abundant, fruitful, victorious life.
Its this relationship of remaining in vital living connection with our God that produces an unshakable spirit of faith within us a faith that stands fixed and resolute in the faithfulness of God; a faith which boldly declares of the Lord, He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense and fortress; I shall not be moved (Psalms 62:6).
