All Glorious Within

It is of utmost importance that we live in the consciousness of who God made us. He sees us in Christ, and this is precisely how we are to see ourselves. To be in Him means that we are in union with Him, joined to Him; one spirit with Him. We are forever linked with Christ. Being in Christ establishes a wonderful new identity for us. We so often get caught up in who we are in the natural and thus feel our spiritual identity is oceans apart from whom we seem to be in the flesh. We must constantly remind ourselves that through regeneration, we have become a new creation with a brand new identity. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states: Therefore if any person is (in-grafted) in Christ, the Messiah, he is ( a new creature altogether,) a new creation; the old (previous moral and spiritual condition) has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

What a miracle has taken place in us through the new birth! Through regeneration, we died to our old spiritual condition. Our identity of sin, shame and guilt was dealt a death blow, and we became a brand new person with a whole new identity; one that is connected to God and rooted in His life which has been infused into our very being. We became partakers of the divine nature of God. In essence, we received into our born again spirit the glorious attributes of God. We still remained the same person outwardly, but inwardly everything changed. Always remember, it is who you are on the inside that really matters. How marvelous it would be if we could only see the dramatic change that transpires in us the instant we are recreated. In that matchless moment, our spirit man is raised up from spiritual death through the power of the Holy Spirit and then infused with the very life of God. We are translated out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Gods very Own Dear Son. We become a new species of being; a beautiful and glorious creation of God!

In Psalms 45:11 (NIV) we discover that God is enthralled with our beauty. He is captivated with who He has made us! Yes, even in the midst of our immaturity, brokenness, and failure God perceives in us more beauty than we can even begin to envision. God sees each of us as beautiful because of what He accomplished through our salvation and transformation. We are His glorious, beautiful masterpiece. Not only are we beautiful in the here and now, but we are destined for an eternal beauty yet to be unveiled. Can you even begin to perceive what the Bride of Christ will look like in eternity? Many years ago the Lord spoke to my heart from verse 13 of Psalms 45 (KJV) : " the King's daughter is "all glorious within". The threads of this wonderful word have been woven into my heart through the years and continue to propel in my pursuit to stand before the face of my Beloved Redeemer when I cross over into eternity.

Several years ago I taught a series entitled "The House Wisdom Built". When the Lord spoke to my heart to do this series, I assumed I would be teaching on the parable of the wise and foolish men and the building of their houses (Luke 6:46-49). The Lord spoke to my heart, "That is not what I have in mind for you to teach. You are the house that wisdom built"! As I began studying, I thought about the two great houses that God commissioned to be built for Him under the Old Covenant: Moses' Tabernacle and Solomon's Temple. God Himself gave very specific and detailed instructions on how these houses were to be built; everything had to be made exactly according to God's plan. What happened when these houses were completed? The glory of God filled the house (Exodus 40:33, 34; 1 Kings 8:11). Gods way and His pattern is that when His "house" is finished, He fills it with His glory.

The Bride of Christ is currently in the greatest building project ever constructed. The Holy Spirit is hovering, brooding over the Church, preparing her a glorious Church without spot or wrinkle. She is becoming the finished product of the workmanship of God (Ephesians 2:9). When God has completed His work, the world will stand in awe of this radiantly, glorious being, for she will be a bearer of the glory of God. As God's house in this earth, we are in the process of being filled with the fullness of God. The Apostle Paul confirms this in Ephesians 3:19: that you may be filled (through all your being) unto all the fullness of God " [that is] may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself! Soon, God's building project will be completed, and He will once again come down and supernaturally invade this earth, filling His house with His glory. In Haggai 2:9 we read that the glory of the latter house (us) will be greater than that of the former house (Solomons' temple).

It is fundamental for the Bride of Christ to understand what the glory of God is and how His glory affects our lives and the vital role we, as the Glorious Church, play in God's end-time plan of the ages. It behooves us to have some understanding of the Hebrew definition of the word glory. Strongs Exhaustive Concordance (Complete and Unabridged) defines glory as follows: #3519 Kabod splendor, copiousness; from the root #3513 Kabod to be heavy; to make weighty. Rather than dissecting the Hebrew and Greek words to discover all the nuances of the word glory (there are several), I want us to consider the root meaning of this word, for it truly is the foundational definition of this word. The root word for glory carries the meaning of being weighty or heavy with everything good. Is this not a marvelous picture of our God Who is laden with everything good? When Moses asked God to see His glory (kabod), God told Moses, I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim My name, THE LORD, before you (Exodus 33:19). From this declaration, we can discern that the essence of the word glory is to be weighty; to have substance, worth and splendor.

Always bear in mind God and His glory cannot be separated; God's glory is part of the essence of Who He is - His beauty, splendor and perfection of character. He is the God of Glory (Acts 7:2). When and where God shows up, so does His glory. For example, consider the following scripture: God [approaching from Sinai] came from Teman the Holy One from Mount Paran. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. And His brightness was like the sunlight; rays streamed from His hand; and there [in the sun-like splendor] was the hiding place of His power (Habakkuk 3:3, 4). See also: Exodus 33:18"34:7; Isaiah 6:1 -5; Ezekiel 1.

The Apostle Paul, to whom God revealed the mystery of the Church and the glory she would possess, sums up the eternal purpose of God for the Church in Ephesians 3:21, To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever. Amen " so be it. God's plan and purpose is for His glory to reside in the Church. The concept of the Church being filled with God's glory is not some new design that God determined after the Church was formed. It has always been His intention for His people to possess His glory. Listen to God's declaration in Isaiah 43:7, Even everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, whom I have made. Forever, we are destined to shine with the brilliance of Gods magnificent glory. It is part of our eternal inheritance.
